Xterra Snow Off Roading – Allegheny Trail
We started our trip on Saturday morning from Grass Valley, California. The plan was to ride the North Bloomfiled-Bowman Lake Trail and see where it takes us. As we started the trail we decided to instead take the Allegheny Trail as it is more challenging…and it was.
The trail was very scenic and was getting progressively challenging, it was getting very narrow at times and with the addition of snow, was becoming tricky to drive. As we climbed in elevation the snow became dipper and more ice covered the trail, which cause us to slide backward going up-hill, and forward going down them.
We decided to finally turn back When Javier got stuck on the hill-side while sliding backward without being able to control the X. We had to dig a path in the snow so I can pass him and pull his X down hill and out of the ditch.
This was another fun day, very scenic and we gained some more “getting unstuck” skills.
