Berryessa Exploration Ride
Today I was riding in the Berryesa Lake area exploring un-paved roads for future full blown off-road mini-adventure. All the unpaved roads I tried were easy to ride, mostly dry but not dusty (since it rained last week), with great scenery.
Since I was by myself, with 80/20 tires, no tools, and no satellite comm device…I only got about 2 – 4 miles into every unpaved road to “test the water”, than came back out. A thing to note is that Barryesa area is littered with off-road possibilities and quite a few very scenic paved roads.
Left home at 8am, got back at 5pm, total of around 300 miles, around 30 – 40 miles unpaved, temperature 50º – 60º, nice sunny day.
Initial main route gpx, the actual riding-route was a little different since I explored a few alternatives.
